The candidates:

Shaina Hage, a senior criminology and criminal justice major.

Andy Green, a junior communications major.

7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 3

Shaina: He got there first. He was more outgoing than I anticipated. He hugged me, I thought he would be shy.

Andy: I got there first. My first impression was that she was a cool girl.

S: He went 'Shaina' when I walked near Noodles, and he said 'is this where we are eating?, I said yes. And then I said I don't your name, how do you know mine? He said somebody had told him. It was a little awkward, but kind of funny.

A: [The conversation started] when I asked her what she usually orders at Noodles.

S: I said the mac and cheese or the Pad Thai. He said that those aren't bad, but he liked the Penne Rosa better.

A: We connected about studying abroad in Australia, living in the same spot. She went to Australia last spring. I am going this spring.

S: He is going to Australia next semester and he's actually in the same apartment complex as I did when I went there, which was a huge coincidence. I told him how far away he is from the school, the city and how he has to go nuts while he's there.

A: It was not awkward at all. We talked the whole time. It was pretty good. She told me how she is from Minneapolis, she is the first person I have met from there. And she played ice hockey. That was pretty cool.

S: He told about how he is a musician and plays the guitar. He told me about how he rapped about Fe a couple nights before. Then he told me about how he did birthright and about his half brothers and how one is 40 years old. I was like wow that's shocking.

A: We talked about going out in College Park because I was going out later that night.

S: We talked about drinking and how he likes to go to the bars. He told me the stupid things he did in high school. We kept talking after we finished eating, but after a while we got up to go. He didn't know we needed a picture, so right before we left, I saw 2 of my friends, I told them we were on a blind date and he pretended he was upset that I told them we were on a blind date.

A: I walked her home after and I got her number. We had a little hug at the end.

S: I would rate the date a 3 [out of 5]. I didn't think we were compatible as a couple, but we had good conversation, I thought he was cool.

A: I would rate the date a 5. It went well. I had a good time. Maybe we will see each other out.

Let me get this straight:

* She is an uptight wanna-be FBI agent hockey player from Minnesota who slurps down fatty mac n'cheese.

* He is an interesting, outgoing, guitar player who likes to have fun with friends. (Continued…)
